Between 2011 and 2015, Founder & CEO Sean Tepper started investing in the stock market. Like most beginner investors, he started investing in index funds, which made about 10% per year (Matching the S&P 500). He wasn’t happy with those returns, yet at the same time, he knew Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger were able to consistently beat the S&P 500. The big question at the time was “How?”

After making returns ranging between 15% and 50% per year over four years, Sean confirmed Tykr actually works, but wasn’t sure if other investors would find success. At this point, he started the development of Tykr V2 (The software platform).

In 2021, Tykr reached 1,000 customers. At this point, Sean realized that making 15% to 50% per year is nice, but the bigger “win” is helping people invest on their own with confidence. Investors simply want the confidence to buy and sell stocks on their own.

In 2023, Tykr reached 5,000 customers.

As of 2025, Tykr has over 12,000 customers in over 50 countries and has one of the highest Trustpilot scores in the finance industry, with a 4.6/5.0.
