What features are included for LTD customers?

First, I want to say thank you for joining Tykr as a lifetime customer.

Second, I have a special offer for lifetime customers.

1. What is included for LTD customers

When Tykr first launched in July of 2020, the only feature that was included was 2,000 stocks.

Since the launch, we have continued to survey our customers, asking them what features they want most.

Thank you to those of you who helped prioritize our roadmap with our roadmap tool. Feel free to upvote features and add ideas of your own.

Over time, we continued to add more features which we have full control over. In other words, these are features that don’t have ongoing third-party fees. In this case, we were able to develop these features on our own and include them for lifetime customers.

2. What is NOT included for LTD customers

The following are not included because of a separate business, ongoing third-party fees, or extensive costs to Tykr.

• Tykr Edu – Tykr Edu is a separate business model hosted on a third-party platform, Teachable. Not only is Tykr Edu hosted by a third-party, it’s also a service business. In other words, with Tykr you get a platform but with Tykr Edu, you get me. Tykr Edu is considered a “nice to have” not a “need to have” for investors. If you’re interested in a deep dive into investing education, Tykr Edu is for you.
• Broker connections – We will soon be adding broker connections to Tykr, which will be powered by a third-party platform. This will allow customers to make trades on their broker, and those trades will be automatically updated in their Tykr portfolio tracker. We will be moving forward with Snaptrade to facilitate the broker connections. Every broker connection, per user, will cost between $1 and $5 per month depending on number of users. If customers want to unlock broker connections, they will have to upgrade to a Premium Plus or Advanced plan. Here is the list of broker connections that Snaptrade will provide.
• Broker fees – You may use any broker you like but Tykr will not cover the costs of your broker. If you haven’t selected a broker, see the list of the most popular brokers in the Tykr community.
• Alerts (Over 20 active alerts) – Tykr uses a third-party platform, Postmark to send emails. Every email delivery incurs a cost. Tykr can cover the costs of 20 alerts per LTD customer but if LTD customers want more alerts, they will have to upgrade to a Premium Plus or Advanced plan.
• Watchlist (20 watchlists) – Tykr also uses Postmark for the Daily Email and Watchlist Notifications and due to the ongoing costs of Postmark, we do have to limit LTD customers to 20 Watchlists (100 stocks per watchlist). If LTD customers want more watchlists (and stocks per watchlist), they will have to upgrade to a Premium Plus or Advanced plan.
• CSV import – Tykr uses a third-party platform, CSVbox to upload CSV files to a Watchlist or Portfolio. CSVbox charges a fee per upload. I can allow LTD customers to upload 5 CSV files per month but if LTD customers want more uploads, they will have to upgrade to a Premium Plus or Advanced plan.
• 4M Confidence Booster – OpenAI is used to power the new 4M Confidence Booster. For context, one search query with one stock can cost between $10 and $20 with ChatGPT 4 and between $1 and $3 with ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo. See pricing here. Pricing is based on the number of prompt engineering character inputs and outputs. LTD customers can complete 20 4Ms per month but if LTD customers want more 4M completions, they will have to upgrade to a Premium Plus or Advanced plan.
• Real-time pricing – Our current data providers are FMP and EOD and they cost about $500/month. The new data provider I identified is Finnhub and they cost about $7,500/month. Finnhub will be able to provide real-time pricing for the US, Canada, EU, and UK. All other countries will see prices updated once per day. Real-time pricing will be a 15-minute delay which is what a lot of brokers provide. For example, Etrade and Interactive Brokers are 15-minute delay which is fine for investors. However, if you are a true day trader and you already make a steady income as a trader, Tykr may not be a good fit for you. In this case, we recommend TradingView. https://www.tradingview.com/.  The real-time pricing will also add significant costs to our server. In fact, we will have a separate server handling the real-time pricing on its own. We don’t have estimated costs but we know the server costs can increase by at least 10x. If LTD customers want access to real-time pricing, they will have to upgrade to a Premium Plus or Advanced plan.
• 60,000 stocks – Finnhub will also allow us to expand from 40,000 stocks to 60,000 stocks from around the globe. If you’re looking for more stocks from your country, this will solve that problem. All customers including lifetime as well as yearly and monthly subscribers will gain access to 60,000 stocks. Due to the higher costs of Finnhub, we are encouraging lifetime customers to upgrade to a yearly or monthly plan. By doing so, we can move forward with Finnhub in 2024.
• 8,000 ETFs – Finnhub will also allow us to expand to most ETFs from around the globe. If you’re looking for more ETFs from your country, this will solve that problem. All customers including lifetime as well as yearly and monthly subscribers will gain access to Global ETFs. Due to the higher costs of Finnhub, we are encouraging lifetime customers to upgrade to a yearly or monthly plan. By doing so, we can move forward with Finnhub in 2024.
• 1,000 Mutual Funds – Finnhub will also allow us to add over 1,000 mutual funds. Due to the higher costs of Finnhub, we are encouraging lifetime customers to upgrade to a yearly or monthly plan. By doing so, we can move forward with Finnhub in 2024.
• Books – I’m in the process of writing two educational books on investing and business. Tykr does not have a printing business which means we will have to rely on a third-party company, Amazon to sell, print, and ship books to customers.
• API – At some point, Tykr may introduce an API that will be available to businesses, specifically financial institutions. In other words, this will be an enterprise SaaS plan.
• Acorns-like iOS and Android Apps – An Acorns-like app (visit Acorns here) will allow customers to connect their bank account and set automatic deposits into Tykr-designed funds. For example, a customer can setup an automatic $100 deposit into various Tykr-designed funds such as Low risk, medium-risk, and high-risk funds with a different number of stocks. This will be a separate business entity (LLC) and it will be an SEC-registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA/SIPC.
• Tykr ETFs – I may be creating ETFs where investors can go to their broker and purchase various Tykr ETFs, similar to purchasing Vanguard or iShares ETFs. Keep in mind, to be listed on an exchange means Tykr will have to charge an “Expense Ratio” which is the fee for an investor to hold the ETF per year. Typically expense ratio of an ETF can range between .1% and .2%.
